Concentrated flavors of granny smith apples and Anjou pears on the nose are whisked across the palate with a zippy crispness and lilting acidity. The gravelly, mineral laden note of the vineyard mingles with a subtle tropicality reminiscent of just ripe pineapple and kumquats. Hints of lemongrass linger on the finish. Brisk and refreshing, superb with fish!

Estate Pinot Noir 2009

A favorite already by those who have tasted it, this enviable wine enjoys the hue of a rich, brilliant ruby. A swirl around the glass releases an enticing aroma with subtle notes of cherry and berries along with just a hint of smokiness. Generous up front wild cherry, then hints of cola, plum and blueberry. The fruit turns supple in the mid-palate with a refined and full-bodied finish. Our 2009 Pinot is drinking beautifully now and will continue to develop complexity for some time. Cellar through 2019.

Pleasant dark berries on the nose of this fruit forward 2008 vintage. Balanced fruit favors with black cherry first, then soft ripe fruits. The finish reveals blueberry as well as a hint of blackberry. Drink this full bodied wine now or cellar for later as this one will age well.

Dornfelder is a grape that is native to Germany, but thrives in our cool climate Sta. Rita Hills vineyard. It produces inky dark wines, chock full of dark fruit flavors and spicy character. To our delight, we found that these hardy grapes can also produce an intense and intriguing dessert wine when harvested late.
