Coastal
morning fog and afternoon breezes provide an ideal
environment for Burgundian varietals such as Chardonnay
and Pinot Noir, which are planted on the estate in
1988. Dornfelder, a grape varietal developed in Norman
and Traudl’s native Germany, was introduced
to the vineyard in 1995.
Currently, the estate vineyard has
11 acres of Chardonnay, 10 acres of Pinot Noir and
3 acres of Dornfelder.
